When the measured object is a conductive object or an object that can be fixed on a metal object, an eddy current proximity switch is usually used because of its high response frequency, good anti-environmental interference performance, and wide range of applications. The price is lower.

If the object is non-metal (or metal), liquid level, powder height, plastic, tobacco, etc. Capacitive proximity switches should be used. The switch has a low response frequency but good stability. Environmental factors should be taken into account when installing.

If the object to be measured is a magnetically permeable material or a magnet is embedded in the object to be measured in order to distinguish it from an object moving together, a low-cost Hall proximity switch should be used.

When the environmental conditions are good and there is no dust pollution, a photoelectric proximity switch can be used. When the photoelectric proximity switch operates, it has almost no effect on the object to be measured. Therefore, it is widely used in fax machines with high requirements for tobacco machinery.

In anti-theft systems, automatic doors usually use thermoelectric proximity switches, ultrasonic proximity switches, and microwave proximity switches. Sometimes, in order to increase the reliability of identification, the above proximity switches are often used in combination.

Through the sensing surface of the sensor, the oscillator generates a high-frequency AC electromagnetic field in front of it. When a metal object is close to a magnetic field, an eddy current effect occurs within the metal object, resulting in the magnitude of the oscillation or the cessation of the oscillation of the LC oscillation circuit. Changes in the oscillator are amplified by the rear circuitry and converted into a defined switching output signal for non-contact detection.
